Completion of training at eurobahn: young railway employees receive certificates with top marks
- New apprenticeship start in August 2024: eurobahn is already accepting applications
- For last-minute applicants: applications for 2023 training programmes still possible until mid-July
Düsseldorf, 22 June 2022 - On 21 June, a total of three young trainees were finally able to hold their training certificates in their hands at the official award ceremony of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Essen. Astrid Wessels-Tschöke, Head of Education and Training at eurobahn, proudly reports: "Our trainees all passed their exams with the top grade of very good. We are all very proud of our trainees." And so on Thursday, 22 June, they were invited to a round of celebrations at the administrative and operational site in Hamm. In addition to small gifts and permanent employment contracts, there was a relaxed atmosphere in which anecdotes, funny and bizarre things were shared. Feedback was also gathered so that eurobahn can make further adjustments or improvements within the training support programme. The entire team was delighted as to why the three "newly qualified" specialists continued to choose eurobahn despite the many competitive offers. "eurobahn is like a family. We have so many great colleagues, it's great fun. Despite many offers, it was clear that we would stay here," said the three graduates.
"Our trainees mastered far more than the traditional curriculum of our vocational training programmes in their year," says Anne Mathieu, Chairwoman and Managing Director of eurobahn. "They started under pandemic conditions with contact restrictions and yet have become an integral part of our eurobahn family right from the start," she adds.
"I am proud of the three young colleagues, our training department and our team, which has always stood together, regardless of the conditions."
We are family: eurobahn is part of the railways in NRW
The eurobahn family doesn't just keep to itself. As an integral part of the "Bahnen NRW" initiative, the eurobahn team is part of the large "We are family" campaign. The 11 rail transport companies in NRW are working together with the three public transport authorities under the leadership of the NRW Ministry of Transport to make it easy for interested parties and applicants to enter the diverse fields of activity and career paths in the industry.
Whether it's a return to work or a new career start, the newly designed website bahnen.nrw/familie provides information on all vocational training and qualification programmes. The eurobahn and its family are also involved here: IT specialist for system integration Marius Nolte was already involved as a testimonial for the IT sector in his second year of training a year ago at the start of the campaign. Mechatronics apprentice Leon Lapczynski (third year of apprenticeship) was now the "face" of the new profile page for vocational training and the eurobahn workshop in Hamm-Heessen was one of the backdrops for the campaign's photo shoot.
Vocational training at eurobahn: application still possible for apprenticeships starting in 2023, next apprenticeships also in summer 2024
The interactive job map on the site summarises all open training and qualification opportunities at the railways in NRW. Interested parties can also easily apply for the next training programmes at eurobahn here. In August 2024, eurobahn will once again be training "railwayman in operations service" and "mechatronics technician" (both m/f/d). For last-minute applicants, it is even still possible to apply for the two training programmes from August 2023. The company is still accepting applications up to and including 15 July.
