VRR-Tarif (Rhine-Ruhr Transport Association)

The VRR-Tarif standardises the ticket offer in the Ruhr area, Lower Rhine, Bergisches Land and Düsseldorf.

The Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) is responsible for local public transport on the Rhine, Ruhr and Wupper rivers.
  • The tariff and transport conditions of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr apply. All VRR tickets are recognised.
  • At the ticket machines at the station, you can purchase all Bar tariff tickets(single, 4-seater and 24-hour tickets, as well as additional tickets), as well as tokens for the SozialTicket to all destinations in the VRR. Please note that the tokens purchased at our ticket machines are only valid in conjunction with a customer card (carrier card). Customer cards are available from VRR sales outlets.
  • The SchokoTicket is only available as a subscription and is not sold on our trains. These tickets are only valid in conjunction with a valid photo ID.
  • An additional VRR ticket is required per journey and person to take bicycles with you and to use first class, unless this is already included in the purchased ticket.
  • BahnCards 25 / 50 are not recognised in the VRR. The BahnCard100 is recognised.
